Aussie Bubblers are those tracks and/or artists who didn't quite
make it onto the charts of the day. Many are lesser known Aussie
tunes that quietly "bubbled away" and which have been collected
as part of the OZburn project.
The OZburn project is an epic attempt to
compile all of the music of Australian and New Zealand artists
who charted during the 1955 - 2002 period - with this site
containing those between 1955 and 1975
This is similar to Whitburn and the more
recent Britburn projects, with the exception that no overseas
artists are included.
The criteria adopted are that the musicians:
-
were born in Australia or NZ: or
-
started their music career in Aus
or NZ; or
-
made a substantial contribution to
Aus or NZ music whilst residing there with only the songs
produced whilst resident being included
-
Note: Aus & NZ artists in a recognized
overseas group are excluded.
